Bob’s political work in Florida spans the depth and breadth of the entire state, its diverse constituencies and competitive races all over the ballot. His experience in this state stretches back to work for Senate Victory in 1994. The following year he became deputy staff director for former Florida House Majority Leader Jim Davis where he developed an incumbent protection operation for Florida House Democrats. In 1996, then-St. Rep. Allen Boyd hired Bob as his campaign manager for a competitive north Florida open congressional seat. Boyd won and Bob became his first congressional Chief of Staff in 1997.
Florida Political Work
Bob has helped elect U.S. Reps. Darren Soto, Allen Boyd, Tim Mahoney, Corrine Brown, Alan Grayson, Gwen Graham, Robert Wexler, state legislators like Sen. Randolph Bracy, St. Reps. Kamia Brown and Janegale Boyd and many local and municipal officeholders. He has deep experience in Hispanic and African-American media from work in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando and the diverse communities of south Florida.
Beyond candidate-specific work, Bob has directed reapportionment strategy for multiple Members of Congress, led statewide exploratory campaigns, directed IE operations in-state for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the pro-environmental group Ocean Champions, directed paid media campaigns for multiple Hispanic-focused PACs, directed an IE media campaign in support of Joe Biden in 2020 for a pro-Puerto Rican Statehood PAC, and worked on Florida political projects for DCCC, House Majority PAC and the Florida Democratic Party. He also worked on a statewide campaign in 2019 to gather signatures for the Ban Assault Weapons Now ballot initiative here in Florida.
